As followers of Jesus, we are led to love God and love our neighbors. We don’t have to look far to find examples of brokenness and hurting in our own city. Hear the Cry wholeheartedly believes that God wants to and will transform the city of Portland. We hope to be able to spread His love to our neighbors in as many ways as possible.
Hear the Cry serves Portland through partnered efforts to bring love and resources to kids in the foster care system and our homeless population. There are many ways in which we partner with others to bring about God-sized change in our city.
Portland Rescue Mission has been serving Portland’s homeless population since 1949. They aim to break the cycle of homelessness, addiction, and despair that unfortunately afflicts so many of our neighbors. PRM offers meals, restrooms, showers, clothing, mail service, referrals and community activities. They have also expanded their ministry to now offer various rehabilitation programs for anyone willing to seek help.
Royal Family Kids Camp is an organization aimed at providing a week of incredible fun for children in the foster care system who have experienced abuse and neglect. For many children, this week of camp is the highlight of their year; they make new friendships, have tons of fun, and are able to just be kids!
Safe Families for Children is a movement of compassion – compassion for both the parents and their kids. We are prepared to step alongside and help so the parents can focus on the overwhelming issues they are grappling with.
With Love strives to support foster families by providing them with quality clothing and supplies for young children. Because of a lack of preparation time, foster families often find themselves overwhelmed and underprepared to take care of a new child. With Love’s mission is to make sure foster families receive everything they need so they can focus instead on loving their little one.
Bringing compassion & justice into areas of brokenness around the world.
