In America, we have the ability to walk a couple feet within our home, lift the handle of our faucet, and access clean drinking water. Many families in Africa have to walk far to retrieve dirty water.
The Water of Life team is working in Iraq and Uganda to install wells. The goal is to raise $10,000 for a well in Uganda.
The well will be installed in the village of Mafubira, which is about a 20 minute ride from Jinja, Uganda. A local missionary, Lufafa Emmanuel, is a registered nurse and a pastor. He has dedicated his life to helping the children and their families of Mafubira by providing them with medical care, food, and making sure they receive an education; while demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ to his community.
Local people will be trained to maintain the well. The water well will provide the community with sanitation, hygiene, improved health, increased access to food and other benefits, while providing an opportunity to tangibly share Christ’s love and concern for the people’s everyday lives.
Water changes everything.
